NFL Football Teasers A teaser bet is a bit complex. You will need to pick 2 teams against the spread. However, you can adjust the point spread for each game by 6 points on either team up or down. Both teams must cover the adjusted spread for you to win the bet.  For example the point spread on two games is: Cowboys +8 vs Lions -8 Bills +12 vs Colts -12 Taking the favorites, you could make the bet of Lions -2 and Colts -6. If you wanted the underdogs, you could make the bet Cowboys +14 and Bills +18, or any other combination. Teasers can also be used in points totals bets. You can adjust the points totals the same way by adding or subtracting 6 points from the posted point total. Payoffs usually are straight one for one for a two team bet with a 6 point adjustment. They can go up if you add more teams, and go down if you want to add points from 6 to 7 points. Teasers can be fun, but winning them is not that common. They are used primarily to move games off football key numbers.  For example, you can tease a team that is +2.5 up to +8.5. Then, you hit the key numbers of 3, 4, 6 and 7. Or, vice versa, tease a team down from -8.5 to -2.5. Another excellent move is to tease a team from +1.5 up to + 7.5.
